Mehwish Hayat lauded the Hollywood for inclusion of a superhero of another ethnicity in their movies
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistani renowned actress Mehwish Hayat expressed euphoric feelings over the addition of Pakistani-American Muslim superhero Kamala Khan iteration of Ms. Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universise (MCU), having her own TV show on Disney+.
Punjab Nahi Jaungi star lauded the Hollywood for the inclusion of a superhero of another ethnicity in their movies. “Great news! — Mehwish Hayat TI (@MehwishHayat) September 5, 2019Ms. Marvel will revolve around a Pakistani-American girl Kamala Khan from New Jersey who possesses the superpowers like superhuman speed and strength, to recover from almost any injury and to change the size and shape of her body.
Kevin Feige, the producer of Marvel has shared in a tweet, saying, “You will meet her in her Disney+ series and then you will see her in our films, it is incredibly exciting for us”.
Kamala Khan iteration of Ms. Marvel will be the first Pakistani-American superhero to headline her own solo Marvel project, helmed by Bisha K Ali. Khan made her first appearance in Captain Marvel #14 (August 2013) before going on to star in the solo series Ms. Marvel, which debuted in February 2014.
Created by editors Sana Amanat and Stephen Wacker, writer G. Willow Wilson, and artists Adrian Alphona and Jamie McKelvie, Khan is Marvel’s first Muslim character to headline her own comic book.
The project is reported to be in its initial production phase, no releasing date or cast has been given yet. Ms. Marvel is joining the diverse list of Marvel, including the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki and Hawkeye in the Disney+.
