Indian move to abrogate Article 370 is a violation of UN resolutions, FM Qureshi tells Saudi, UAE counterparts

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Saudi Arabia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Bin Sultan-al Nahyan held a meeting with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday and discussed the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of India’s move of ending the occupied Valley’s special status.
The meeting took place at the Foreign Office after the arrival of the Saudi and Emirati dignitaries on a day-long visit.
On the occasion, Qureshi made it clear that Indian move is a violation of international law and a violation of UN resolutions.
He said that India has held hostages for millions of Kashmiris for over a month, adding that the situation in Kashmir is alarming and food and medicines are not available
Prior to the delegation-level talks, the three foreign ministers warmly shook and raised hands in front of cameras as a gesture of unity among the three nations.
Earlier, Saudi Arabian and United Arab Emirates (UAE) foreign ministers had arrived in Islamabad on one day official visit. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi welcomed the visiting dignitaries upon their arrival.
During the visit, Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed al-Jubeir and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan will meet Prime Minister Imran Khan, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
Bilateral ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and regional developments will be discussed in the meetings.
The Saudi foreign minister’s visit to Pakistan had been announced after his meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Raja Ejaz in Riyadh on Sunday.
Earlier, Imran Khan made a telephonic contact with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and apprised him on the present circumstances in India-occupied Kashmir (IoK).
Let it be known that this was the third telephonic contact between Imran Khan and Mohammed bin Salman in two weeks.
