Waseem Akhtar suspends Mustafa Kamal as Karachi's 'Project Director Garbage.'

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar has on Tuesday suspended Pak Sarzameen Party Chairman (PSP) Mustafa Kamal as city’s ‘Project Director Garbage’ hours after he was assigned the duty.

Waseem Akhtar talked to the media and said he had granted the responsibilities to Mustafa Kamal – who had also served as Karachi mayor earlier – as he thought the PSP leader wanted to work for the metropolis with honesty.

“Mustafa Kamal has been removed over misconduct. He was not cleaning up the city but only doing politics. He should have reported to the head office and discussed the formula to clean the city, but he got involved in the ‘china-cutting’ of the department.

“Mustafa Kamal is not a representative of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) that he is asking for documents.

“Karachi is suffering from sewerage and clean water problems, and the administration is working to eradicate them by using the machinery that it possesses.

“The Solid Waste Management Board is not working and the Sindh government is not providing resources to the local body.”
