Senate body approves resolution condemning India's act on Kashmir

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Senate Standing Committee on Kashmir issue and Gilgit-Baltistan has unanimously approved a resolution condemning India’s illegal act over the Kashmir.
The resolution strongly condemning the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A from the Indian constitution was presented by the committee members Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Raja Zafarul Haq and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Rehman Malik.
It stated that the Indian measures for making amendments in the special status of the occupied Kashmir are unconstitutional and illegal.
According to the text of the resolution, Indian action is a violation of international law and the Security Council’s resolutions. The Indian government is conducting state terror in occupied Kashmir. The committee strongly condemned Indian state terrorism and the genocide of people in occupied Kashmir.
Senate Standing Committee on Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan also strongly condemned the imposition of curfew, kidnapping of Kashmiris and arrest of Hurriyat leaders in occupied Kashmir, saying that the Indian Army is committing the worst example of human rights violations in the occupied valley.
In the resolution, the Standing Committee called on the UN and the international community to take notice of the situation in Kashmir and said that the world should put pressure on India to stop human rights violations.
In the resolution, the government also decided to take the Kashmir case to the International Criminal Court as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committing war crimes. “Pakistan should take action to declare Narendra Modi a war criminal and present the evidence to the International Criminal Court”, read resolution.
