One youth martyred, dozens injured as Kashmiris break curfew on day 15.
SRINAGAR (Dunya News) – One youth was martyred and dozens were injured after clashes with Indian forces as Kashmiris broke the curfew on day 15 in some areas of the occupied valley, Dunya News reported on Monday.
Over four thousand Kashmiris have been arrested so far and the jails have run out of space. The captives are now being transferred outside the valley. Television, telephone and internet links remain snapped by the authorities in the occupied Kashmir.
According to a British broadcaster, one person lost his life after being suffocated by the Indian tear gas. A boy jumped into a river to escape seizure during protests.
The news agency reported that arrests are being made under the controversial Public Safety Act which allows to keep the detainees in jails for at least two years without being tried.
Let it be known that the curfew was enforced on Monday (August 5) after PM Narendra Modi-led Indian government had scrapped Kashmir’s autonomy by revoking Article 370.
