Pakistan awaits Kashmir resolution under UN resolutions, international law: Firdous

She emphasised that China has once again supported Pakistan's stance on Kashmir dispute.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (PM) on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, in a series of tweets on Saturday, reiterated that United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has endorsed Pakistan’s stance regarding the status of Jammu and Kashmir.

“UN’s secretary general’s clear statement, that urges India to refrain itself from amending the status of Kashmir, acknowledges Pakistan’s stance [on the dispute],” she stated, adding that it should be resolved through UN security resolutions while the act of Narendra Modi was an attack on democratic norms and the international law.

She emphasised that China has once again supported Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir dispute that has proven its support with truth and uprightness.

The special assistant to the premier added that the friendly and close relations between Pakistan and China required Pakistan to take its ally into confidence over the nefarious act of Narendra Modi.

She said China is an emerging world power, and we thank our all-weather friend for backing Pakistan’s stance in support of the oppressed Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir.

“China’s clear stance [on the matter] is evident that the entire world stands by the premier in his approach to achieve peace and stability in the region,” she said.

“Pakistan as a responsible state awaits resolution of Kashmir dispute under United Nations resolutions and international laws.”
