Gremio, Chapecoense share spoils in six-goal thriller.
SAO PAULO (Reuters) - Gremio and Chapecoense shared the spoils after a thrilling 3-3 draw in Brazil’s Serie A on Monday.
Gremio twice took the lead in the first half through Pedro Geromel and winger Everton but first Everaldo and then Gustavo Campanharo brought the visitors level.
Arthur Gomes put Chapecoense ahead for the first time on the hour mark but Diego Tardelli earned Gremio a deserved draw with his goal nine minutes from time.
Gremio also had a stoppage time penalty award rescinded after the intervention of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
The result leaves Gremio 13th with 17 points from 13 games while Chapecoense remain fourth bottom, just inside the relegation zone, with 10 points.
Santos lead the league with 32 points.
