Dog bite cases on the rise in Karachi

At least 11 dog bite cases were reported at Karachi’s Jinnah Hospital on Thursday.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Dog bite cases are on the rise in Karachi as concerned authorities of Sindh government hav failed to launch comprehensive campaign against stray dogs.

According to detail, At least 11 dog bite cases were reported at Jinnah Hospital on Thursday. The affected persons were brought from different area of Karachi including Malir, Model Colony, Sultanabad, North Nazimabad, Sarjani Town, Memon Goth and Shah Faisal Colony.

It is pertinent to mention here that death toll from rabies disease during 2019 has reached 12. Rabies is a preventable disease transmitted to humans through the bite of infected animals. However, in Pakistan 99 per cent cases are caused by dog bites.
