Sewerage water enters graveyard after heavy rains in Karachi

Sewerage water entered into Sakhi Hassan graveyard of Karachi because of excessive garbage.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Water from a nullah has entered in the graveyard of Karachi after heavy rains lashed the whole province.

As per details, sewerage water entered into Sakhi Hassan graveyard of provincial capital because of excessive garbage in the nearby nullah. The nullah filled with garbage overloaded when rain water added to it.

Over 50,000 garves are flooded with sewerage water. Citizens have protested over this alarming situation as all the graves are feared to be inundated by filthy water.

The citizens said the rain has stopped but the water from nullah is continuously flowing towards graveyard.

KMC said the Nullah already filled with garbage was overloaded when heavy rains lashed Karachi.

An official said a new project of construction of a nullah was approved but Sindh government paid no heed to this. Officials said the graves are feared to be damaged by this water as repair of nullah can take time.
