Racket of Pakistani visa stickers for foreigners exposed

Sources said that the bribe was given to extend the contracts of illegal recruits.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday wrote to the passport authorities seeking complete record of visa stickers sales upon tracing the illegal business of stealing Pakistani visa stickers for foreigners as well as 150 illegal recruitment in the passport office in past governments.

According to the sources, hundreds of stolen visa stickers were sold to the foreigners whereas each stolen visa sticker was allegedly sold for hundreds of thousands of rupees to foreigners living illegally in Pakistan. FIA sought the complete record of the visa sector illegal business from the passport authorities before July 26.

An inquiry against 150 people who were illegally recruited in the last ten year in passport office has also been started. Sources said that recruitment were neither advertised in news nor followed as per legal rules rather people were recruited on a contract while bribe for extending the contract was also taken.
