FM Qureshi, CM Mahmood, PPP's Bilawal condemn D.I Khan suicide attack

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Washington on Sunday strongly condemned the suicide bomb blast in Dera Ismail Khan, and expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the tragic incident.

In a statement, he termed the incident “a failed attempt situation of the country and stated that such cowardly acts could not plummet their morale.

He said those who target hospitals were the worst enemies of humanity.

Qureshi expressed strong resolve to uproot terrorism from the country and said the police personnel who had laid their lives in the line of duty were pride of the nation.

Moreover, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has also strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Dera Ismail Khan.

In a statement in Peshawar, he reiterated that such cowardly acts cannot deter the government’s resolve against terrorism.

He expressed sympathy with the bereaved families and prayed for the departed souls and early recovery of injured in the incidents.

Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has strongly condemned Dera Ismail Khan blast and directed the concerned departments to reach on the spot and serve the needy and wounded people.

He expressed sorrow and deep grief over the incident. The minister also expressed sympathies with family and relatives of martyred police officers.

Gandapur termed it as a “reaction of successful democratic process in the tribal areas” where provincial elections are conducted in a peaceful manner for the first time in the history.

He assured the nation that the sacrifices of law enforcement agencies’ personnel would not go in vain and expressed resolve that the terrorists and their facilitators would be eliminated from the country.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari condemned the attack by stating that the entire nation stands united against terrorism and extremism.

He also demanded the government to ensure provision of proper medical treatment for the injured persons in the attack.
