PAC sub-committee session adjourned due to load shedding

Committee convener asked government officials to receive TA and DA from the Power Division.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The sub-committee session of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Tuesday was adjourned after just half an hour due to load shedding in the Parliament House.

PAC session was presided over by Noor Alam Khan when the whole room went dark due to load shedding. The House used few lights which were apparently not enough to continue the session and even the meeting could not have been recorded due to inconvenience of power.

Committee convener Noor Alam expressed concern over the meeting and directed to call the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) chief in the House stating he should be called here if he has turned the power off.

Noor Alam Khan ordered the government officials who attended the meeting to receive their travelling allowance (TA) and dearness allowance (DA) from the Power Division on which audit authorities should make a proper report.

Auditor general expressed that it is the responsibility of Capital Development Authority (CDA) to provide power supply to the Parliament. Committee convener asserted to inquire the matter and said that today he got the idea that country is in grave crisis due to electricity. PAC sub-committee was adjourned later.
