The minister stated: "It is possible that besides inflation, no other issue persists in the state."
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former defence minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Khawaja Asif on Tuesday addressed a session of the NA, and stated PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif was being targeted for diverting the attention from the current economic crisis in the country.
“Three budgets have been unfolded [by the government] this year, and the opposition is being targeted,” he said.
“Inflation has been rising in the country, whereas no one spoke about it,” he added, while regretting that the person who had presented the budget was awarded immediately.
The minister further stated: “It is possible that besides inflation, no other issue persists in the country.”
“Undertakers have gained control of the state, and everyone has to suffer through this misery.” He termed the trial of PML-N MNA Rana Sanaullah as “ridiculous” and said: “Political revenge is bad omen.”
“There is no charge against Nawaz Sharif, but still he is in jail…We don’t call for an NRO, we will fight till the end,” he said, adding that the Constitution and the general public would suffer the damages in the war.
“We suffered jail time in the era of [former dictator] Pervez Musharraf,” he went on to say, while adding that Nawaz Sharif would return to power by people’s votes and those who have been attempting to erase his name would be destroyed.
The PML-N’s MNA expressed regret over what he termed an unfortunate situation that lessons were not learnt from history.
“All legal requirements must be fulfilled in the pursuit of justice. Ask workers of the assembly about how their days are being passed…ask them whom do they curse,” he stated.
