Chaudhry requested the federal government to disband the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Monday demanded to freeze assets of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and former president and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Monday, he said that they should have worked hard to find receipts instead of making video, adding that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Maryam Nawaz are living on looted money.
Chaudhry went on to say that he requested the federal government to disband the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee by imposing the lunar calendar, adding that the central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, headed by chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman should be suspended.
Regarding moon sighting app, he said that every zone can be adjusted by a person’s position so moon sighting is not an issue anymore. He said that he will be sending the five-year lunar Calendar to federal cabinet for approval next week.
The minister added that the calendar will then be sent to Foreign Ministry as he has been receiving feedback from Arab countries.
