Anti-govt campaign: Opposition holds first session of Rehbar Committee.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The opposition on Friday held the first session of Rahber Committee in relation to its anti-government campaign, and the meeting was chaired by Leader of Opposition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly Akram Khan Durrani.
Farhatullah Babar and Nayyar Bukhari from Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Ahsan Iqbal from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Qaumi Watan Party’s Hashim Babar and Mian Iftikhar from Awami National Party attended the session.
Furthermore, Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo from National Party, Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) leader Usman Kakar, Shafiq Pasrori from Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadees and JUP’s Awais Noorani were also part of the committee.
The representatives opted not to choose any permanent chairman of the committee as it was decided that the upcoming sessions will be chaired by members from different parties.
The meeting deliberated upon names for new Senate chairman after Juma [prayer] break.
