Opposition won't get NRO at any cost: PM

The members have discussed strategy for the approval of budget for fiscal year 2019-2020.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has chaired meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) parliamentary party in Islamabad today (Tuesday). During the meeting, the premier said that the opposition parties won’t get National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) whether they arrange All Parties Conference (APC) or run any movement. He said that no one has directly approached for reconciliation formula. Khan further directed all the members to ensure their presence for budget approval session. Meanwhile, the members discussed strategy for the approval of budget for fiscal year 2019-2020. They also deliberated on handling the anti-government movement launched by opposition parties.

Earlier, PM Imran Khan said aim of improving regulation and developing it on modern lines will facilitate the business segment. He said small and medium-sized industry has suffered badly due to no objection certificate (NOC) requirement by different departments and lack of automation. He said multiple NOCs, new terms and conditions and various regulatory stages not only open the ways for corruption but also affect the foreign investment. Khan had also approved to establish a Steering Committee, which will be headed by Advisor on Establishment Shahzad Arbab and Advisor on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood. Secretary Commerce, Chairman FBR, Chairman SECP, Chairman Board of Investment, President FPCCI, Presidents of Chambers of Commerce of Lahore, Karachi and Faisalabad as well as representatives of Pakistan Business Council will be part of the committee.
