ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) submitted a written reply to Islamabad High Court seeking former President Asif Ali Zardari’s exemption from appearing in his bail plea hearings pertaining to Park Lane case.

NAB said that court has the authority to exempt his presence as they have to make special security arrangements for the suspect which also troubles the common man.

According to written reply submitted by Deputy Prosecutor General NAB Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi , it is not mandatory for Zardari to appear every time court has a hearing. It was also mentioned that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman was arrested when the court rejected his bail plea.

The Accountability Court approved his physical remand till July 2 where he was also provided medical facilities on the court’s order.

Zardari s lawyer Farooq H Naik submitted his bail application in the IHC and requested for a production order.

On June 10, the National Accountability Bureau arrested Zardari in the fake bank accounts case from Islamabad after a bench of the Islamabad High

Court had rejected a plea filed by Zardari and his sister, Faryal Talpur, seeking an extension in their interim bail in the fake bank accounts case.

The case pertains to transactions worth hundreds of millions of rupees to the two leaders private companies, allegedly, through fake bank accounts.
