Pakistan to face South Africa on Sunday at London.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former skipper and legendary Pakistani bowler Wasim Akram took a jibe at the Pakistan’s poor cricket structure after losing to India on June 16.

Akram pointed finger at the first-class cricket of the country saying, “Pakistan’s first-class cricket has been run by some random journalist for some odd reason and why for so many years,” he said.

While applauding the Indian Premier League and India’s first class cricket he expressed, “Indian cricket invested everything in their first-class cricket over the years”.

Former skipper asserted that only select those in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) who have performed well in the first-class cricket. “Enough is enough, only pick players in the PSL who have performed well in first-class cricket,” said Akram.

Pakistan has been performing exceedingly poor at the current ongoing ICC World Cup 2019, winning only one match out of five, while one was washed out due to rain.

Pakistan need to win all their next matches with a good run rate to keep their qualifying hopes alive.
