Show cause notice to PM Imran nothing less than surprise, Firdous Ashiq said.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – While taunting erstwhile president Asif Ali Zardari, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan Friday said a ‘VIP prisoner’ requested for the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) in the National Assembly yesterday.
Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan affirmed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government will get the 2019-20 budget passed with the help of its political allies.
She said the show cause notice to PM Imran Khan by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is nothing less than a surprise.
The premier visited Ghotki to condole the death of Sardar Ali Muhammed Khan Mahar with his family, and did not even hold any media talk there, she commented.
Prime Minister Imran khan – unlike Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah – did not announce development projects, hundreds of jobs and other packages there, she said.
Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said ministers of Sindh government are violating the rules and regulations of the ECP, and one of the members is conducting his bye-election campaign under the protocol of Sindh police. Why is the ECP silent over this violation and not taking any notice, she questioned.
It is worth mentioning here that the ECP had issued a show cause notice to Imran Khan for visiting the NA-205 Ghotki-II constituency before a bye-election that is scheduled in July.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate for the bye-election Abdul Bari Pitafi had approached the ECP asking to take notice of Imran Khan’s visit to Ghotki on Wednesday.
