Ishaq Dar did not request political asylum, family sources

Ali Dar, son of Ishaq Dar, denied all allegations about requesting Home Office for political asylum.

LONDON (Dunya News) – A family source of former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar denied all allegations on Wednesday pertaining to his request for political asylum in the United Kingdom.

According to his family sources, Ishaq Dar went to the Home Office of the UK to inform about the media trail as he believed Pakistan would use the memorandum, which is going to be signed with UK, against him.

Ali Dar, son of former FM, denied his application request and expressed that Dar just informed the Home Office about the propaganda being exercised against him.

Earlier today, the Accountability Court demanded the verified records against the accused former finance minister Ishaq Dar in assets beyond means reference.

Judge Muhammad Bashir heard the reference pertaining to assets beyond means case in Islamabad today (June 19). He ordered the investigation officer (IO) to submit the original call-up record that was sent to the accused Ishaq Dar.

During the hearing, IO Nadir Abbas statement could not be recorded. His statement will be recorded in the next hearing.

The court adjourned the reference hearing till June 26.
