(Web Desk) - Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Prime Minister Imran Khan and he had very high powered meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on sidelines of SCO summit in Bishkek.
In a tweet, he said both sides had a frank exchange on issues of regional interest and concern.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said we are interested in building synergies with Russia and chart new frontiers of cooperation and engagement.
Meanwhile, Foreign Office in a press statement said the Prime Minister’s engagement with world leaders including President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin lent further momentum to Pakistan’s all-weather strategic cooperative partnership with China and to the growth of Pakistan’s multi-dimensional ties with the Russian Federation.
It said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s comprehensive statement at 19th Meeting of the Council of the Heads of State of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States underscored Pakistan’s commitment to contribute substantially to the advancement of SCO’s goals and objectives in the political, security and economic spheres.
