KP likely to unveil Rs657.25bn annual budget 2019-20

PESHAWAR (APP) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is likely to unveil Rs657.25 billion annual budget 2019-20 carrying Rs200 billion annual development programme with main focus on social sector development.
The current revenue expenditure has been pitched at Rs475.25 billion for the next fiscal, indicating Rs182 billion surplus budget.
Likewise, Rs36 billion has been allocated for ADP for merged areas besides Rs. 65 billion for running expenditure.
Similarly, the province is likely to receives Rs70 billion from the foreign resources whereas ‘Sasta Ghar’ scheme in Peshawar and Hangu district has been made part of ADP.
Following merger of former the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Provincial Government has included special projects including clean drinking water, health, Sehat Insaf cards and other development schemes in budget to ameliorate socio-economic conditions of tribal people.
Projects related to clean drinking water supply schemes, Green Waziristan and Bajaur were included in ADP where massive plantations would be carried out to make these areas under forestry cover and expands wildlife habitats.
A state of the art medical college would be setup in Kurram tribal district while Sehat Insaf Card, interest free loans and billion trees project were included in the budget proposals.
A welfare package costing Rs30 million has been prepared for minorities in 2019-20 budget and a special package for development of provincial capital.
