PML-N workers, Punjab police face off as NAB arrests Hamza Shehbaz

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers on Tuesday have staged protest on Lahore’s Mall Road against the arrest of Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz by National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

According to details, heavy contingent of security personnel arrived at the scene to disperse the protesters who were chanting slogans against the incumbent government and anti-corruption watchdog.

The PML-N workers demanded the authorities to withdraw Hamza’s arrest, adding that fake cases were filed against their leader.

It is to be mentioned here that Hamza was arrested after Lahore High Court (LHC) turned down his applications for extension in his interim bail.

Following the proceedings, a special team of NAB shifted the PML-N leader to the bureau’s headquarter at Thokar Niaz Baig in Lahore.

Hamza is being trialed in Ramzan Sugar Mills, and money laundering and assets beyond means cases.
