Hafeez Sheikh, Raza Baqir should be asked about rate of dollar: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former finance minister and National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance Chairman Asad Umar on Monday said that only Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance Abdul Hafeez Shaikh can tell details about devaluation of the Pakistani currency against dollar.
Addressing a salary cheque distribution ceremony Pakistan Machine Took Factory in Karachi, the standing committee chairman said that Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) is a profiteering institution, adding that many people were ready for investment.
He said the matters of the steel mill will be better soon, adding that steps were being taken for the betterment of Pakistan Machine Took Factory.
Asad Umar further said that how the representatives of the government could sleep without paying salaries the employees.
He regretted that the employees doesn’t even have place to sit in the Prime Minister Secretariate.
The former minister said that the committee formed for the PSM in its report stated that the issues would be resolved soon.
To a question, Umar said Hafeez Sheikh and State Bank Governor Raza Baqir should be asked about rate of dollar.
