Shahid Afridi advises Pakistan to play aggressive and positive cricket at World Cup 2019

(Web Desk) – As ICC World Cup 2019 is on the verge, Pakistan legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi advised Pakistan team to play aggressive and positive cricket at the big event.

Pakistan is getting familiar to the England’s atmosphere by playing five-match ODI series against the host. Pakistan performed extraordinarily in warm matches in England after losing the ODI series against Australia in UAE this year.

Talking to a private news channel, former captain Afridi expressed that Pakistan national team should play aggressively and positively with all the seriousness in the upcoming World Cup.

“My advice to the boys is to play positive and aggressive cricket. [The] players will have to play each game as if it is their last game, seriousness should be there in every game. I have no doubts that this team can be among top four teams of the World Cup if boys play according to their potential,” Afridi said.

Cricket veteran asserted on the chances of Pakistan in the mega event saying that they have nine games before stepping into the big league so they should be prepared for it as modern day game has changed big time.

Afridi also advised that Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed should bat at a higher order. “I have always said that Sarfaraz batting at the top will always be beneficial for Pakistan cricket team,” he said.

Pakistan former all-rounder further said Pakistan should utilize the rest of the ODI series against England wisely and try out different combination to find the best XI for World Cup.

“We now have four games left before World Cup commences do as many as experiments you want, test as much as combinations you want, but enter the World Cup with [your] chin high and confidence and give your best,” Afridi signed off.
