Pak seeks Chinese cooperation in science, technology and poverty alleviation: PM Imran

PM noted that Pakistan and China cooperation has diversified under the umbrella of the CPEC.
BEIJING (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday while alluding to the achievements made by China in poverty alleviation and the science and technology, said that Pakistan also seek Chinese cooperation in these two areas to move forward.
He was speaking at a luncheon hosted by China-Pakistan Friendship Association and International Cultural Communication Center in Beijing. The Prime Minister noted that Pakistan and China cooperation has diversified under the umbrella of the CPEC. He said initially the corridor project focused on road infrastructure and energy projects but now we are taking it towards cooperation in the fields of agriculture and industries. Imran Khan said Pakistan seeks Chinese investment not only in the special economic zones to be set up under the CPEC but also the reallocation of their certain industries.
Khan emphatically stated that Pakistani nation and government fully support multi billion dollars China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
The Prime Minister said the CPEC being a part of the Belt and Road Initiative has proved to be a blessing for Pakistan as it gave the country an opportunity to catch up with other nations. He said this mega project has helped not only attract investment from China but also other countries.
Imran Khan said that relationship between Pakistan and China has got stronger with each passing year. He said China always supported Pakistan in difficult times and there is recognition of this very fact in Pakistani nation.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said Pakistan is now also working towards establishing peace and stability in the region in order to achieve the goal of economic prosperity. He said Pakistan is supporting peaceful settlement of the Afghan conflict through dialogue amongst all the stakeholders. He said Pakistan has decent relationship with Iran and we are working to further strengthen it.
About relations with India, he hoped India will come to the table of negotiations after the general elections.
