Saudi Shura Council chairman calls on PM Imran

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al Ash-Sheikh called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad today (Thursday).
During the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan reiterated commitment to peace and security of Saudi Arabia and sanctity of Harmain Sharifain.
The prime minister conveyed his best wishes to King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.
He underscored the importance of parliamentary exchanges between the two countries for greater understanding of each other s legislative systems.
Imran Khan noted with satisfaction the recent developments in Pakistan-Saudi relations, particularly the landmark visit of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman in February this year.
He expressed hope for an early release of Pakistani prisoners in Saudi Arabia, as promised by the Crown Prince during his visit.
Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Leader of the House in Senate Syed Shibli Faraz, and senior officials were present during the meeting.
On Wednesday, a delegation of Saudi Arabia’s Shura Council, headed by its Chairman Dr Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al-Shaikh visited Parliament house and met Senate chairman Sadi Sanjrani.
Chairman Saudi Shura Council Dr Abdullah bin Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al-Shaikh hold a one-on-one meeting with Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and discuss matters of mutual interest.
On the occasion, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani said Pakistan desires for peace and stability in the region.
“Pakistan has rendered great sacrifices in the war against terrorism for regional and global peace,” said Senate Chairman.
Sadiq Sanjrani emphasized on expediting an exchange of visits by delegations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
A delegation of Saudi Arabia’s Shura Council, headed by its Chairman Dr Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al-Shaikh arrived in Pakistan on a three-day official visit on Tuesday.
The main purpose of the visit is to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and to boost trade and investment cooperation.
The delegation will hold meetings with President Dr Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Army Chief and other high officials.
