PFA seals spices factories in Lahore

PFA also seized 15,000Kg chili, 4,000 turmeric, and 10,000Kg from the industrial unit
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Friday has sealed spice factory over selling sullying spices in Lahore, Dunya News reported.
According to details, conducting an operation in Lahore s area Sabzazar, PFA sealed chili grinding factory while 15,000Kg chili, 4,000 turmeric, and 10,000Kg crude material have been seized from industrial unit.
Dunya News further added that, 1,620Kg corn, 1,000 Kg Chokkar also confiscated which was expected to be mixed in spices.
Spices were being made adulteration by mixing chokkar and corns. However, PAF officials had rooted out the grinding and packing machines while labels and other important things have been seized.
Meanwhile, factory owner managed to escape from scene, but a case in this regard has been lodged in Sabazazar Police Station.
Director General Food Authority said that stock was being prepared for Ramzan by packing chili and turmeric with different names.
