RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – The teams of Punjab Food Authority (PFA) in Rawalpindi on Thursday sealed six factories and two warehouses, and imposed heavy fines on them for unhygienic conditions and preparing adulterated ghee, declaring it unfit and unhealthy for consumption.
During a 16-hour extensive operation, the authorities confiscated 17,765 litres of ghee and 6,860kg of adulterated red pepper.
Besides, 5,440 litres of oil prepared from remains of dead animals was also seized.
Meanwhile, the PFA, in its latest crackdown, has vowed that the authority would not compromise on the quality of food items and no one would be allowed to sell the unfit products.
