LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab government expressed reservation over appointing Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz as chairman of Punjab Assembly‘s Public Accounts Committee (PAC). Punjab Law Minister Basharat Raja asserted that it would not fulfill the measures of justice if opposition leader is appointed right now as he is on trial for various cases including Ramzan Sugar Mills reference.

“Talks are in progress with opposition so hopefully a solution will be found.” he added.

Basharat Raja said that PML-N leader Moonis Elahi has shown disavowal on meeting PML-N. He further said that PML-N leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has expressed confidence in the leadership of PTI by meeting the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

He told media that only CM has the authority to transfer Punjab Inspector Generals (IG) and bureaucrats. Bureacracy belongs to Pakistan and not only to a specific party.
