PPP leaders had announced to lodge a case against the federal minister.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) on Tuesday moved an application to lodge a case against Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed for hurling death threats to party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The application filed by Gilgit Baltistan Food Minister Muhammad Jaffar stating that Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed hurled death threats to PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, hence action should be taken against the accused.
It is pertinent here to mention that PPP leader Chaudhry Manzoor while addressing a press conference in Lahore said that the PPP leaders and party workers will tomorrow (Wednesday) express solidarity with the innocent party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
He said, “We used to ignore the AML chief’s but Rasheed while calling PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as kid, advised him to be careful to avoid political death.
The PPP leader went on to say that first party’s founder was killed then his daughter Benazir Bhutto was martyred in terrorist attack and same thing is again under discussion.
On Sunday, Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari took to Twitter and said Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed was hurling direct death threats at the PPP chairman.
While replying to Sheikh Rashid’s tweet Bakhtawar said it is nothing new that extremist right wingers are threatening a Bhutto, but it is disgusting that a cabinet member is giving an open death threat to someone whose entire family was killed.
“From spewing hate speech, Fed ministers now hurling direct death threats at @BBhuttoZardari. Having extremist right wingers threaten a Bhutto is nothing new but 4 a cabinet member 2 give an OPEN DEATH THREAT to someone whose entire family were killed is disgusting,” she tweeted.
Previously, on March 16, while talking to media in Karachi, the Rasheed said that he had forgiven Bilawal on his friends’ request. The PPP Chairman should be careful in order to avoid political death.
Meanwhile, Rasheed said Pakistan Railways recorded an increase of 3 billion rupees in the revenue during the last six months.
