NAB files another corruption reference against Fawad Hassan Fawad

Chairman NAB approved for filing of reference against accused Fawad Hassan Fawad on March 15.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore on Monday filed another corruption reference against former principal secretary to prime minister Fawad Hassan Fawad for accumulating assets beyond his known sources of income in the Accountability Court, Dunya News reported.

Fawad Hassan Fawad was arrested by NAB Lahore on July 5, 2018 in the Ashiyana-i-Iqbal scam and later his arrest was converted into assets beyond known sources of income case on August 3, 2018.

NAB Lahore has filed the reference alleging Rs 1089 million which is still unaccounted by the accused person. As per the details of assets owned by accused Fawad Hassan Fawad that involved a 5 kanal commercial plot situated at Haider Road, Rawalpindi Saddar valuing Rs 500 million (approx), at present. Moreover, shares in 15 stories commercial plaza at Saddar, Rawalpindi wherein Rs 3850 million were incurred on the acquisition of land and construction of the same by him and other share holders.

NAB Lahore Regional Board converted ongoing inquiry against accused Fawad Hassan Fawad into investigations on October 12, 2018 whereby after completing the investigations, a reference was sent to NAB Headquarters for approval from Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal and his Executive Board.

The Executive Board under supervision of Chairman NAB approved for filing of reference against accused Fawad Hassan Fawad on March 15, 2019 which has been submitted before an Accountability Court, Lahore by NAB Lahore.
