Innocent people have been killed in their place of worship, said school's newsletter.
(Web Desk) – Students and staff at a north Auckland school expressed solidarity with the victims of the Christchurch terror attack by forming a heart and wrote Maori phrase ‘Kia Kaha’, meaning ‘stay strong’. Orewa College said, “The school gathered on Monday morning to show its support for the people involved in the attack and for all people of Muslim faith.” "Innocent people have been killed in their place of worship, a place where they should expect to be safe," school’s newsletter stated. "It brings to mind our own values and why we find this so abhorrent. Ideas of the perpetrator have no place in our community and school. "We hold firm to our manaaki values at this time and respect for others is at the heart of these values. "Understanding and respecting those who have different backgrounds is what we all do, and need to do, to maintain a safe and civilised society," it further read.
