Indians tops list of foreigners seeking Pakistani citizenship

Four Chinese nationals were also present in the list.

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Despite ongoing tensions between the nuclear-arch rivals, around 461 Indian nationals sought Pakistani citizenship during the last 10 years.

As per the details, out of the 635 foreigners to become Pakistani citizens, 461 came from India. Afghanistan and Sri Lanka came in second and third spots.

As many as 43 Afghanis, 22 Sri Lankan’s, 15 Britain, 14 Bangladeshis, 12 Philipinos, 10 American, 6 from Switzerland and four each from Canada, China, Iraq and Kuwait have been granted Pakistani nationality during the last 10 years.

From 2012 till April 14, 2017, a total number of 298 Indian emigrants have been granted Pakistani citizenship.
