PSL live: Lahore Qalandars set 141-run target for Multan Sultans

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Multan Sultans beat Lahore Qalandars by 7 wickets in the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL-4) at the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi on Sunday.

Playing first, Lahore Qalandars had on Monday set a 141-run target for Multan Sultans after being sent into bat by Shoaib Malik at the National Stadium Karachi.

Some top bowling from in particular, Mohammad Abbas and Shahid Afridi , kept the Lahore Qalandars to a below par total of 140-8, off their 20 overs - Fakhar Zaman 53 and David Wiese 30 the main run getters.

In reply, Shan Masood 48 and Johnson Charles 41* top scored, as Multan Sultans won by 7 wickets, chasing down the target in just 12.3 overs.

“To be honest, it’s a day game and a fresh wicket,” said Shoaib Malik. “The games I’ve played here, in the second innings it becomes a little easier. And then at least you have a clear picture in front of you.”

“It was a good toss to lose, because I also wanted to bat first,” Fakhar Zaman said. “It’s a good pitch. The previous games were high scoring, and hopefully this one will also be high scoring.”

Muhammad Abbas received the Man of the Match Award
