Inquiry into alleged irregularities in PKLI completed

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Investigation into alleged irregularities in Pakistan Kidney Liver Institute and Research Center (PKLI) on Saturday has been completed.

Dunya News has obtained the inquiry report according to which, cases against key accused including Chief Executive Officer Dr Saeed Akhtar have been suggested.

Dr Saeed Akhtar and CEO of Infrastructure Development Authority Mujahid Sher Dil have also been alleged of violating rules and regulations.   Earlier, former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar took suo motu notice of the irregularities in the institute and said, “Incompetency and inefficiency have maximized in Punjab. Not even a commission has been formed till date.” “The government has spent Rs22 billion allocated from the national exchequer. The amount should be returned as nothing beneficial has been produced from it,” said CJP. He remarked that Punjab government’s ineptitude is being made part of the written order.
