NEPRA approves increase in power tariff by Rs1.80 per unit

The NEPRA on Wednesday held a meeting in Islamabad before approving the hike in power tariff.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved an increase in power tariff by Rs1.80 per unit under the fuel adjustment mechanism following the month of January.
According to details, the NEPRA approved the tariff at its headquarter in Islamabad after the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) sought hike over the reference of increased fuel charges, under the monthly fuel adjustment cost for power distributing companies.
The approval will cost consumers around Rs13.5 billion, however lifeline, K-electric and agricultural consumers have been excluded.
