Sony is said to ship the Xperia XZ4 with Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box.

(Web Desk) – Smartphone-maker Sony is anticipated to break cover and look forward to leave its rival behind in the megapixel race at 2019 Mobile World Congress (MWC) on Feb 25 in Barcelona.

The upcoming fourth flagship in the Xperia XZ series handset XZ4 has a triple camera system at the back with a primary 52 megapixel sensor. The setup may also include a 16 megapixel telephoto and a 0.3 megapixel time of flight sensor.

According to a post on Sumahoinfo, the triple camera system will be positioned vertically at the back with the main 52 megapixel f/1.6 aperture sensor sitting in the middle.

It will be backed up by a 16 megapixel telephoto lens with an f/2.6 aperture at the top and a 0.3 megapixel time of flight sensor with an f/1.4 aperture at the bottom.

If this turns out to be true, it will be the first smart-phone to have such a high-resolution camera, leaving the recently launched Honor View 20 and the Redmi Note 7 behind.

Other details include a flat (rather than curved) screen of apparently 6.5 inches (up from 6.0 on the Xperia XZ3), a super-wide 21:9 aspect ratio, and a bezel above and below the screen, and a super-wide-angle selfie camera around the front.

These bezels seem fairly slim, but not as small as those on some phones, and there’s no notch.

The Xperia XZ4 is rumoured to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and have 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of inbuilt storage. The storage is said to be expandable further up to 512GB via microSD card slot.

Sony is said to ship the Xperia XZ4 with Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. It will pack in a big 4,400mAh battery with support for Qnovo Adaptive charging, USB PD, and Qi wireless charging.

The Xperia XZ4 is rumoured to come in a new Deep Purple Colour along with Black, Silver, and Blue colour options. Sony has managed to keep the price and availability of the Xperia XZ4 under wraps but we will likely find out at the MWC 2019 later this month where the company is expected to make an announcement.
