IHC to hear PTI's plea seeking Zardari disqualification today

The petition seeking Asif Zardari disqualification will be heard by IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) plea, seeking disqualification of former president and Pakistan People s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari for concealing details of his assets, today (Tuesday), Dunya News reported.

The petition, accepted with the objection raised over it, will be heard by Chief Justice Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Athar Minhallah.

Reportedly, the applicants including PTI s lawmaker Khurram Sher Zaman and the incumbent Special Adviser to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar have accused Zardari of concealing his assets.

The petition stated that former president was elected from constituency NA-213, and his property in New York, US, was not declared in the asset details submitted with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The application has pleaded with the court to disqualify Zardari from holding membership of the National Assembly for not being  Sadiq  and  Amin  under Article 62 (1)(f) of the Constitution.
