FIR registered against policemen for negligence in firing case

Injured were identified as 40-year-old Adnan and his wife, 30-year-old Saqiba Bibi.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – First information report (FIR) has been registered on Wednesday against policemen for their negligence in the case pertaining to firing that left a couple injured in Korangi No 5 area.
According to details, police launched an investigation into the incident that happened on Tuesday and found the on-duty policemen guilty in the case.
Earlier, Sindh Inspector General (IG) of police had taken notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the District Korangi police chief.
It is pertinent here to mention that the injured were identified as 40-year-old Adnan, son of Arfeen, and his wife, 30-year-old Saqiba Bibi.
The couple was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center where they were given treatment. The medical staff had informed that Saqiba Bibi underwent surgery and both were out of danger.
The witnesses had said that the police were carrying out snap-checking when they opened fire on suspects riding a motorcycle who managed to escape, however, a couple who was passing by the scene was accidently hit by bullets and injured.
Police officials had claimed that the couple was not injured by the police firing. They unfortunately wounded when the suspects opened fire while trying to escape.
