Extension in military courts: Govt to form committee to resolve issue

Cooperation of opposition parties is needed to resolve the matter: Qureshi
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The PTI government has formed a committee to resolve the issue pertaining to extension in military courts.
This was decided in a high-level meeting on Wednesday. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Federal Minister of Law and Justice Dr. Farogh Naseem, Defence Minister Pervez Khatak, Human Rights Minister Shereen Mazari, former NA speaker Fahmida Mirza and Aamir Dogar were attended the meeting. Secretary Parliament Maliaka Bukhari briefed the meeting on the issue.
While talking to media, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the govt has decided to constitute its own committee to resolve the matter with consensus adding that the govt will take opposition parties into confidence in this regard.
He said that two-third majority is required in the parliament for an amendment in the constitution and the cooperation of opposition parties is also needed to resolve the issue, he added.
