CAPE TOWN (Dunya News) – Pakistan batting coach Grant Flower has said “the atmosphere isn’t the best at the moment,” following the team’s first Test defeat to South Africa at Centurion, however he has called for unity amongst the squad.
Importantly, he has revealed that position of many players has been at risk, hinting at their possible deselection for the next matches to be played.
Reportedly, ‘disgruntled’ Pakistan cricket team coach Mickey Arthur had some harsh words with the players when he expressed dissatisfaction on their performance in the Test match.
Earlier, Arthur received an official warning and one demerit point for breaching the International Cricket Council (ICC) Code of Conduct during the third day s play of the recently-concluded first Test of the ongoing three-match series against South Africa at Centurion on Friday.
Arthur was found to have violated Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to showing dissent at an umpire s decision during an international match .
Pakistan, which lost the first Test by six wickets, will take on South Africa in the second Test from January 3 to 7 at Capetown.
