Information Minister acknowledges UN role for development in Pakistan

Minister said incumbent govt is fully committed to alleviate socio-economic status of common man.

(Web Desk) - Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said that Pakistan acknowledges the contribution of UN agencies to complement our development needs in line with our national priorities and policies.

While talking to UN Resident Coordinator Neil Buhne in Islamabad, Information Minister said the incumbent government is fully committed to alleviate socio-economic status of common man, eradicate poverty and ensure sustainable development.

The Information Minister said the government is looking forward to work closely with UN team in areas beneficial for the people of Pakistan.

He said media in Pakistan enjoys unprecedented freedom and the government is committed to facilitate the growth of free and responsible media.

Neil Buhne gave an overview of the UN activities and engagements in Pakistan and appreciated the government for according top priority to eradicating corruption.
