Demolition of boundary wall of Governor House challenged in LHC

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The work on demolishing the boundary wall of Punjab Governor House in Lahore has slowed down on Monday after a plea has been submitted against the directives issued by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Advocate Azhar Siddique submitted a plea in the Lahore High Court (LHC) against directives to demolish the boundary walls of the Punjab Governor House.
The plea stated that this change in the historical building of the Governor House is not acceptable.
It is pertinent here to mention that the work on demolishing the boundary wall of Punjab Governor House in Lahore had started on Sunday.
The demolition started a day after PM Imran Khan had directed to immediately demolish the wall of Punjab Governor House in Lahore.
On the other hand, sources told Dunya News that the final decision to end Governor Office from Governor House has not yet been taken.
Sources said that a committee proposed the PM to take several steps including making a museum, art gallery and botanical garden in the Governor House.
On Saturday, PM Khan while chairing a high level meeting of the Punjab cabinet at the Chief Minister Office had directed to immediately demolish the wall of Punjab Governor House in Lahore.
Punjab CM Usman Buzdar briefed PM over the provincial government’s 100-day performance.
The premier while lauding the Punjab government ordered it to accelerate measures for improving the social and economic status of a common man.
The provincial ministers gave presentation to the PM on the performance of their respective departments. The cabinet also informed the premier about the future goals in Punjab.
The PM directed Punjab CM to monitor the provincial departments. PM Khan ordered to form price control committees and refrained the minister’s to support any corrupt officer.
