On November 30, the Pakistan's rupee had plunged almost five percent to a record low.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - President Dr Arif Alvi on Sunday has urged Pakistanis to buy products "Made in Pakistan" and shun imports after recent pressure on the rupee.
In a Twitter message, President Alvi wrote, “Considering pressure on Pak rupee,I urge Pakistanis to buy Made in Pakistan . In this time of crisis we must try to avoid luxury goods & avoidable imported purchases. If you put your mind to it there is a long list of daily use imported products. This is what we must do together”

Earlier, on Saturday, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan had addressed a gathering at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and asked the business community not to panic.
PM had said that due to geo-strategic position of Pakistan, the government’s anti-corruption efforts and business-friendly policies, other states were interested to invest here.
It is pertinent to remember that on November 30, the Pakistan’s rupee had plunged almost five percent to a record low after what appeared to be a sixth devaluation by the central bank in the past year as the country struggles with an acute balance of payment crisis.
The unit sank to 143 rupees against the dollar just a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government celebrated 100 days in office with a televised conference boasting of its achievements.
