PML-N has demanded chairmanship of PAC from the government.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The provincial government on Friday has geared up negotiations with opposition parties for the formation of standing committees in Punjab.

According to details, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has demanded chairmanship of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) from the government over which, law minister Basharat Raja asked for time till Saturday.

Earlier, the government side had urged the opposition for another name instead of Shehbaz Sharif as the former Punjab CM was booked in NAB cases and cannot be made PAC chairman.

The opposition had earlier announced it won’t nominate members to standing committees if it was ‘robbed of its right’ to head the PAC. The federal government had also decided to appoint PAC chairman from the treasury benches.
