Govt achieved 18 out of 34 targets: Shahzad Arbab addresses 100 Day performance event

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister adviser on Establishment Muhammad Shahzad Arbab while speaking about PTI’s 100-day plan at Islamabad’s Convention Centre asserted that the government has chosen the right direction.
“When we presented the 100-day agenda, our friends said that we are creating difficulties for ourselves. I admit that they were right but we wanted this,” he said.
Arbab maintained that he had worked with several governments but the present one worked swiftly which was not seen in last 36 years.
“The Prime Minister adopted austerity, held regular cabinet meetings and held himself accountable. We begin to upload the performance of government on the website from day one,” he said.
“At least 34 promises in the 100-day agenda were related to federal government. We have achieved 18 of them while work on the rest of the 16 is going speedily,” claimed the adviser.
Arbab Shahzad pronounced that an asset recovery unit was established that detected properties worth 11 billion dollars abroad. He said notices have been sent to thousands of persons who are not tax filers. Focus has also been made on brining reforms in FBR as part of improving the tax machinery, he said.
“We have finalized the local government system of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Local government system will be provided funds and will also be empowered,” declared the adviser.
An Economic Advisory Council comprising eminent economic experts was set up to give an economic direction and guidance to the government on economic affairs, he said.
The adviser went on to say that steps have also been taken to improve ease of doing business.
Arbab uttered that work was done on delivery of speedy and inexpensive justice to the people by introducing legal reforms.
"Among the ongoing projects, first is creation of South Punjab province. A separate secretariat will be set up for South Punjab before June 30th next year. Additional posts of Chief Secretary and IG Police and a separate development program will be introduced for South Punjab," he announced.
Arbab said significant achievements have been made in Fata Secretariat.
"Federal government has taken the responsibility of giving 3 percent to FATA from divisible pool. For a faster development of FATA, work will be started in next two months. For Balochistan, to remove the grievances and alienation of Baloch populace, purpose oriented and meaningful talks are being held between government and Baloch leadership," he updated.
"Protocols of Prime Minister and Ministers have been reduced. Luxury and expensive vehicles auctioned by Government. Governor Houses are now open for public. A university will soon be established in Prime Minister House," he recounted.
"Foreign Policy of the Government have produced better results for the country," added Arbab.
The adviser informed that a complaint centre has established by the Government.
"10 new trains have been inaugurated by the Government. The Clean and Green Pakistan campaign has been initiated along with cheap electricity and gas for export industries," he said.
"A partnership with Britain has been made to bring back looted wealth. A special unit has also been formed to bring back assets looted from the country and sent abroad," maintained the adviser.
