The government has increased the gas and electricity prices to overcome the deficit.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – As the100-day governance of incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) completes today (Wednesday), the inflation has climbed sky high in the country with a rise in the gas and electricity prices over the said time period.

Apparently, the government has increased the gas and electricity prices to overcome the deficit that has a spillover effect on the local production cost of industry.

The industrialists are of the view that reason behind the current devastating economic situation is political tug of war among the political parties and blame game leading to lowering foreign investments.

The trade unions have demanded government to make a downward revision in gas and power tariffs and increase volume of exports to gain foreign exchange reserves and to attract foreign investment.
