Rs1.43 billion spent on ex-PMs' camp offices, NA informed

The Jati Umra office used more than Rs9 million in five years, NA told.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Assembly (NA) on Friday has been informed that Rs1.43 billion was spent on the construction of ex-prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s camp offices.
During the session chaired by Speaker Asad Qaisar, a written reply stating that camp office in Jati Umra continued to work after the appointment of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as PM was submitted.
The Jati Umra office used more than Rs9 million in five years while Rs5.1 million was spent by Islamabad office in two years, it added.
Meanwhile, the speaker expressed resentment over law attendance in the House and suspended the session for 10 minutes, directing the members to ensure their presence.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi exchanged harsh words over water dispute among the provinces.
The PTI leader alleged PML-N government of stealing water of other provinces over which, the ex-prime minister clarified that his government had never done this kind of corruption.
