Punjab govt mulls over implementing fare per stop on metro bus

The provincial government is giving a subsidy of 12 billion rupees on metro bus.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Following the increase in prices of petroleum products the Punjab government is considering to abolish subsidy on metro bus by implementing 18-20 rupees fare per stop.
The provincial government is giving a subsidy of 12 billion rupees on metro bus, which – according to authorities concerned – is a huge burden on the exchequer.
The decision to increase fares has already been agreed upon and the transport department and mass transit authority have to come up with per fare amount.
